GUWAHATI, July 10 - The new academic year of the Don Bosco Institute of Management (DBIM) was inaugurated by Subramaniam Ramadorai — chairman, National Skill Development Agency and National Skill Development Corporation and the special advisor on skill development programme to the Prime Minister of India — at its Kharghuli campus on July 6.
Ranjit Borthakur, chairman FICCI and advisor to the Chief Minister of Assam was also present at the inaugural function.
Prior to addressing the MBA students, Ramadorai visited the computer labs and the practical labs of students undergoing skill development programme at the institute.
Ramadorai, in his inaugural address, said that the present generation has ample opportunities in every sphere of life and that they should make the best use of it. He emphasised the importance of skill development in all disciplines. “Make use of the opportunities that is being offered at the institute for the future is in your hand,” Ramadorai said. He advised the young students to undertake research in their area of specialisation and also make effective use of the available resources.
Earlier, the guests were welcomed by Fr. Johnson Parackal, the Executive Director.
The management students presented a freedom dance and a song on the occasion.
