Anti-Assam agenda of Centre flayed
Staff Reporter
GUWAHATI, July 10 – Expressing concern over what it said was a conspiracy by the Prime Minister’s Office to deprive a deserving Assamese candidate from becoming Oil India Limited’s Chairman-cum-Managing Director, the Asom Jatiyatabadi Yuba Chatra Parishad (AJYCP) said that it was inexplicable why the PMO should reject Rupsikha Saikia Bora’s appointment file even after it was endorsed by the Public Selection Board of the Central Government.

Reiterating a statement issued here recently, the AJYCP said that the developments made it clear that the Narendra Modi-led BJP Government at the Centre was pursuing an anti-Assam agenda by seeking to deprive a competent Assamese official from getting her legitimate post.

“This is clear that anti-Assam forces are working overtime in PSUs with tacit support of the Centre. But the AJYCP will always oppose such discriminatory practices on the part of the Centre, and will launch a mass movement unless justice is done to the State,” it said.
