Call for probe into minister’s remark

 GUWAHATI, July 9 – A division bench of the Assam Human Rights Commission (AHRC) comprising Chairperson Justice Dr Aftab Hussain Saikia and Member Jyoti Prasad Chaliha has issued notice to the State Chief Secretary to cause an inquiry into the alleged inflammatory communal remark made by Minister Gautam Roy on June 26 at Rajiv Bhawan at Hailakandi.

The probe is to be done by an officer of the rank of an Additional Chief Secretary, Government of Assam, the report is to be submitted before the Commission within six weeks.
