About 100 players from all over the State took part in the camp where North Korean coach Lee Jung Sik imparted training to youngsters. State coaches Gobinda Upadhaya, Biman Bhagawati, senior players Gautam Hazarika, Kaushik Phukan, Pankaj P Chutia, Manash Pratim Das and Bhaskar Sarma assisted the Korean coach during the camp.

Assam DGP Jayanta Narayan Choudhuri attended the closing function as chief guest. Director of Sports Gaurav Bothra, former State TT player Writick Saikia, Abbas Uddin Ahmed and ATTA official Munin Nobis were also present on the occasion.

ATTA secretary, while welcoming the gathering, revealed that it was the longest camp by a Korean coach in India as in other places the camps will for a forthnight. Players were given free accommodation during the camp. He also thanked the TTFI for allotting the Korean coach for one month.

DGP Choudhury thanked the youngsters and their guardians for sparing time for the camp. He hoped that Assam will again get players like Monalisa Baruah, Modalasa Hazarika, Writick Saikia from this batch who will be able to win national championships for Assam.

Writick Saikia was felicitated by the ATTA for his show in 1971 National School Games where Assam emerged champion.

Saikia and Bothra also spoke on the occasion. All the participating players were given certificates by the ATTA.
