Dynamo edge past policemen
Sports reporter
GUWAHATI, July 8 – Riding on a solitary goal by Abraham Goodluck, title aspirant Dynamo Club managed to edge out spirited City Police in today’s match of the Premier Agro Bio-Tech NN Bhatta Football Tournament.

In a low key match at the Nehru Stadium here, Abraham shot home in the 22nd minute after setting the ball with a chest trap off captain Onyebi Nandos Ogbonna’s centre. It was a good looking goal as Abraham wasted no time inside the box in shooting home.

The policemen also created several openings but failed to hit the target. Police striker Amulya Das, who was later given the marching order in the 66th minute after being booked for the second time, was the man to be marked as he troubled the Dynamo defenders with his skills.

In the later part of the match, Police striker Nandeswar Konwar misfired in an open net.

Dynamo, studded with three Nigerian players, hardly could do justice to their reputation. They were quite disorganised at the up front. Although their defenders shouldered their responsibilities with determination, the striking force could not show cohesion in the final moments.
