Arunachal Budget session begins today

 ITANAGAR, July 7 - The Budget session of the 7th Arunachal Pradesh Assembly will begin on Monday.

Deputy Chief Minister Chowna Mein, who also holds the Finance portfolio, will present the Budget for the financial year 2019-2020 tomorrow itself. The Budget will be taken for consideration and passing on Wednesday, according to Assembly sources here.

The Minister in-charge of Finance will also present the Gender Budget, 2019-2020 and the Statement on Budgetary Provision for Urban and Local Bodies for the FY 2019-20.

Among other business, five important Government Bills are also scheduled to be tabled on the opening day of the three-day Budget session.

While Home Minister Bamang Felix will introduce the Arunachal Pradesh Lokayukta (Amendment) Bill, 2019, Chief Minister Pema Khandu, also the Minister in-charge of Tax and Excise will move the Arunachal Pradesh Goods and Services Tax (Amendment) Bill, 2019.

Health Minister Alo Libang will introduce the Arunachal Pradesh Protection of Medical Service Personnel and Medical Service Institutions (Prevention of Violence and Damage or Loss of Property) Bill, 2019.

Minister of Town Planning and Urban Local Bodies, Kamlung Mosang will introduce the Arunachal Pradesh Municipal Corporation Bill, 2019 and Education Minister Taba Tedir will bring in the Arunachal Pradesh State Higher Education Council Bill, 2019.

The House will also take up discussion on the motion of thanks on Governor’s address. State Governor Brig (Retd) Dr BD Mishra had addressed the first session of the State Assembly on June 4 when the newly-elected lawmakers in the State took oath as Members of the Assembly. But the motion of thanks could not be taken up for discussion then due to paucity of time.
