Diphu incident condemned, Chief Minister flayed
Staff Reporter
GUWAHATI, July 4 – The All Tai Ahom Students’ Union (ATASU) today condemned the incident of brutal attack on student Jhankar Saikia and his father at Diphu by some miscreants a few days back, which resulted in the death of Jhankar in a hospital on July 1.

Speaking to this newspaper, ATASU president Pranjal Rajkonwar also flayed Chief Minister Tarun Gogoi, who is holding the Home portfolio too, for his non-committal attitude in improving the law-and-order situation in the State.

Meanwhile, expressing its deepest condolences at the ‘tragic’ incident of Diphu, the Greater Guwahati Karbi Students’ Association (GGKSA) has condemned the inability of the district and police administrations of Karbi Anglong district to control the marauding mob and demanded immediate arrest of the culprits to give justice to the family of the victim.
