Inspection carried out in Azara circle

 GUWAHATI, June 30 - An inspection was today carried out in the landslide-prone areas in Matiyapahar, Kahikuchi, Azara under the Azara Revenue Circle, during which 27 houses were identified as vulnerable and notices were issued to the residents to vacate their houses as soon as possible.

 A source in the Kamrup Metro district administration said, “We have already set up two relief centres at the No.33 Chakardoi Prathamik LP School and Chakardoi Dekhbhakta Tarun Ram Phukan English School. The APDCL has also been informed and asked to be on standby mode to cut the electricity connection of the respective houses whenever necessary.”

“Using speakers, we have also alerted the people living nearby,” the source added. The local police authorities have been informed about the situation and notices issued to all the emergency services to stay alert.
