Assam Tribune Group’s Asam Bani completes 66 years

 GUWAHATI, June 30 - Asam Bani, an Assamese weekly of The Assam Tribune Group of Publications, will complete 66 years of its existence on Wednesday. The weekly started its journey on July 1, 1955 under the leadership of Singhapurush Radha Govinda Baruah.

 Since its inception, the weekly has been playing an important role in Assamese social life, always sticking to the path of positive and neutral journalism. In its 66-year history, a number of luminaries of Assamese journalism have served as its editor. They include Satish Chandra Kakoti, Tilak Hazarika, Phani Talukder, Nirod Choudhury, Homen Borgohain and Chandra Prasad Saikia. At present, the weekly is being led by Dilip Chandan as its editor.
