Train derails near lower Haflong
Correspondent
HAFLONG, Jan 23 – During the second day of the 100-hour NCHills bandh, suspected bandh supporters removed fish plates of the railway track near Lower Haflong railway station at about 2.50 pm today, resulting in the derailment of a goods train bound for Badarpur. No one, however, was injured in the incident.

Railway personnel and police rushed to the spot to restore the communication. It may be mentioned here that the railway authority had earlier suspended all the passenger trains upto January 27 as precautionary measure. But today’s derailment disrupted good train communication between Lumding and Badarpur.
