Brindaban extends support to Ramdev
Staff Reporter
GUWAHATI, Jan 21 – Former Asom Gana Parishad (AGP) president Brindaban Goswami has come out in support of yoga exponent Baba Ramdev’s call for a Congress-free country. Goswami, who has been staying away from active work of the AGP since the past few years, on Monday made an appearance along with Baba Ramdev at a press conference here.

Asked by the reporters whether he is planning to join the BJP, an issue which has been speculated for quite some time in the State’s politics, Goswami refrained from giving a direct reply and only said that he is with Ramdev on common issues of concern.

He praised Ramdev for “being the first person” to raise the issue of black money being stashed in foreign bank accounts. “I also agree whole-heartedly with his views regarding the basic problems grasping Assam, including the threat from continuing illegal immigration,” said the former State Education Minister.
