|Director Prabin Bora passes away|
GUWAHATI, Jan 21 – Prabin Bora, noted film director, playwright and actor, died this afternoon at the GMCH due
to illness. He was 80.
Beginning his career as an actor in his younger days, performing with stalwarts like Phani Sarma, Bishnuprasad Rabha and others at Tezpur, he wrote and acted in several of his popular plays of the period. Later on in Guwahati, he entered the film world, assisting the legendary Brajen Barua in the all-time popular Assamese movie Ito Sito Bahuto. During the 60s he made his first film Parinam, followed by Angikar, Prem Bhora Chokulu and lately Luitok Bhetibo Kone. He also has a number of documentaries, TV serials for Guwahati DD etc., to his credit.
