DIBRUGARH, Jan 20 - Satyabrat Sahu, Additional Secretary to the Union Department of Land Resources reviewed progress of the watershed development projects under the Prime Minister’s Krishi Sinchayee Yojana (Watershed Development Component) (WDC-PMKSY) in Assam and Arunachal Pradesh at a meeting held at the conference hall of the Office of the Deputy Commissioner here today.
The meeting was attended by Dr CP Reddy, Scientist (TE), DoLR, Gurdeep Singh Panesar, CEO, State Level Nodal Agency, WDC-PMKSY, Pallav Gopal Jha, Deputy Commissioner of Dibrugarh, Sanjoy Dutta, District Development Commissioner, Dipu Kumar Deka, Additional Deputy Commissioner and officials from the Soil Conservation and Revenue officials of Assam and Arunachal Pradesh.
In the meeting, the Additional Secretary reviewed progress of works of 372 watershed development projects under the Prime Minister’s Krishi Sinchayee Yojana (Watershed Development Component) (WDC-PMKSY) in Assam and directed the CEO of SLNA to complete all batch-III and batch -IV projects before March 2020.
Speaking about the importance of proper convergence between key departments like Soil Conservation, Agriculture, Fishery, Animal Husbandry, Veterinary and Irrigation departments for effective implementation of the Prime Minister’s Krishi Sinchayee Yojana, Additional Secretary Satyabrat Sahu also stressed on effective management and supervision at the state and district level and asked the departments to work in a cohesive manner to enhance productivity and generate income through such convergence practices.
Later, he also reviewed the progress of digitisation and computerisation of land records in Assam and Arunachal Pradesh under the Digital India Land Records Modernisation Programme (DILRMP) with revenue officials from Assam and Arunachal Pradesh.
After detailed review, the Additional Secretary fixed June 2020 as the deadline for completion of establishment of all 153 modern record rooms and also asked the officials concerned to complete the digitisation process of cadastral maps and integration of SROs with revenue offices within six months in Assam.
Issues related to poor internet connectivity in revenue offices, besides non-availability of maps were also discussed in the meeting. Ashok Kumar Barman, Secretary to the Government of Assam, Revenue and Disaster Management Department, also attended the meeting, a release stated.
