Govt elicits citizens’ opinion on Budget 2019-20

 BONGAIGAON, Jan 20 - The state government has instructed all the deputy commissioners to collect citizens’ feedback on Budget 2019-20 by January 24 so that their suggestions may be considered before it is finalised and tabled on February 6.

In Bongaigaon district, willing citizens may collect feedback forms from the Deputy Commissioner’s Office here, North Salmara Sub Divisional Office at Abhayapuri and the District Treasury offices.

Addressing a press meet at the conference hall of the Deputy Commissioner’s office here on Saturday, Additional Deputy Commissioner Dhruba Jyoti Das said that they will keep boxes on the premises of the said offices to collect the feedback forms from the citizens.

They will hold pre-Budget campaigns in certain local educational institutions and a meeting with the local citizens at the DC’s office here on January 22 and seek their full participation in this annual budgeting process, Das added.

Interested citizens may send their suggestions on the Budget vide e-mail also. Suggestions have been sought in areas like health, education, welfare, security, justice, environment, agriculture, industry, culture and heritage, besides others.

The best three suggestions from the citizens will be selected and honoured accordingly. The last date for depositing suggestions/feedback forms is January 24, ADC Das informed.

He also said that steps have been taken to distribute maximum number of feedback forms among the citizens from all walks of life within this brief period of time.
