BONGAIGAON, Jan 20 - Bongaigaon Refinery (BGR) signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Goalpara district administration on Friday to initiate developmental projects in the district on education and health sector under its Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) Scheme and Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s Aspirational District Programme (ADP).

Prime Minister Modi had launched ADP on January 5 last year to transform the districts which see low progress in key social areas as per the survey conducted by NITI Aayog.

As Goalpara is one of the seven aspirational districts of the state, identified by NITI Aayog, Indian Oil saw the prospect of implementing projects related to sustainable development in the district for which the BGR came forward to sign an MoU with the district administration.

The MoU was signed between Goalpara Additional Deputy Commissioner Omar Sharif and BGR Deputy General Manager (Human Resources) Naba Jyoti Das in the presence of Goalpara Deputy Commissioner Varnali Deka and BGR Chief General Manager (Projects) Kailash Pati.
