Automated traffic signal systems in Dibrugarh

GUWAHATI, Jan 20 – Three new automated modern traffic signal systems have been installed at key junctions in Dibrugarh town by the State’s leading outdoor advertising agency – Outreach Advertising – on a Public Private Partnership (PPP) mode with the Dibrugarh Municipal Board.

The development and maintenance of these signal systems would be done by Outreach Advertising on its own investments and capabilities for a period of 15 years in lieu of exclusive advertising rights.

The signal systems have been installed at Marwari Patty, Majhar Tiniali and Rangghar Cinema Hall junction and are already functional. The contract agreement, signed by former Chairman of the Board, Chandrakanta Baruah last year, has been executed now. With this installation, most of the key junctions of the town now have traffic signal systems.

Sunit Jain, Director, Outreach Advertising, said outdoor advertising is part of the urban landscape and such projects are making significant contribution to the urban infrastructure while offering innovative outdoor media to advertisers.

This was stated in a press release issued here today.
