Zubeen asks people to be united

TEZPUR, Jan 17 - Noted singer Zubeen Garg has appealed to the people of the State to oppose the Citizenship Bill tooth and nail.

Participating in a programme organised by Kolaguru Art Foundation in association with the Zubeen fan Club here today, the singer claimed that the Bill would destroy the indigenous people of the State.

Garg, who has been opposing the Bill, said that the BJP is trying to bring more foreigners to the State through this Bill. “Foreigners are posing a serious threat to the people of Assam and the Bill will create a complicated situation in the days to come,” he said, adding that he would oppose the Bill till his last drop of blood.

The programme was also attended by noted singers across the State.
