Non-indigenous people urged to follow ideals of Jyotiprasad

 GUWAHATI, Jan 17 - The Assam Sanmilita Mahasangha has appealed to the non-indigenous peoples living in Assam to learn the local languages of Assam and also adopt the local cultures by following the ideals of Jyotiprasad Agarwala.

 In a statement here today, the Mahasangha said that the members of the family of Jyotiprasad Agarwala adopted Assamese as their mother tongue and assimilated with the Assamese society, giving up their original Rajasthani language and culture. They accepted Assam as their native place and mingled with the local populace here as the members of the indigenous society. Going a step further, Jyotiprasad made lofty contributions towards Assamese literature and culture.

Jyotiprasad also became the first maker of an Assamese movie. The ideals of this family is to be cherished by the non-indigenous peoples for the sake of permanent peace and amity in the State’s society, said the Mahasangha.
