Training in disaster response organised|
GUWAHATI, Jan 16 - The Aapda Mitra training for volunteers of Lohit district of Arunachal Pradesh which was conducted successfully at the Central Training Institute, Civil Defence and Home Guards, Assam, Panikhaiti here from January 6, concluded today.
Attending the closing ceremony, Director General of Civil Defence and Commandant General of Home Guards, Assam Pallab Bhattacharyya advised the volunteers to come forward for rescuing the people who are victims as and when required during emergency-situations like flood, earthquake, landslide or in any other disastrous situation. He also laid stress on the importance of regular practice of what they learned at the training, at their place of stay or school.
During the training period, the volunteers were taught flood rescue emergency drill, boating, casualty handling and recovery, emergency method of rescue, preparation of improvised stretcher, floating aids, swimming aids, application of bandages, cardio pulmonary resuscitation and artificial respiration, etc.
