Normal weather returns to NE

 GUWAHATI, Jan 15 – Normal weather condition has returned to the NE region. The factors that led to the shivering cold weather condition on January 8 and 9 have now undergone considerable change and today most of the NE weather stations have reported normal weather condition.

Regional Meteorology Centre (RMC) sources here said that the Easterly or Northeasterly wind has been blowing at the lower level of the atmosphere over the NE region.

Guwahati today recorded a minimum temperature of 10.2 degree Celsius, which was one degree Celsius below normal. On the other hand, the city today recorded a maximum temperature of 25.5 degree Celsius, which was two degree Celsius above normal, said the RMC sources.

Shillong recorded a minimum of 5.1 degree Celsius and a maximum of 15.2 degree Celsius.

Imphal recorded a minimum of 2.5 degree Celsius and a maximum of 23.7 degree Celsius. The minimum recorded by this capital city of Manipur was two degree below normal and the maximum was three degree above its normal.

However, with a 1.8 degree Celsius minimum temperature, Kohima today recorded a minimum temperature which was six degree Celsius below its normal. Its 14.4 degree Celsius maximum temperature was also one degree Celsius below its normal for the period.
