Poets stage protest
A Correspondent
NAGAON, Jan 14 - A few Assamese poets of the district led by Dr Prayag Saikia, children lover as well as literary organiser Dulal Bora, literary pensioner Mulan Laskar registered a rare and strong protest against Citizenship (Amendment) Act 2019 on the main street in Nagaon town on Sunday.

The poets took out a rally and traversed throughout the town for Aair baabe Rajpathot Kabita (Poetry on the road for motherland) where they appealed to the government through their poems to save Assam and its language.

A dozen poets recited poems throughout the rally on the roads and also organised a sit-in near Nagaon Swahid Bhavan where they paid tributes to those who had sacrificed their lives during the recent anti-CAA protests by reciting poems.
