GOC 3 Corps, Arunachal Guv discuss border security issues|
ITANAGAR, Jan 12 - Lt Gen Rajeev Sirohi, General Officer Commanding (GOC) of 3 Corps, Dimapur called on Arunachal Pradesh Governor Brig (Dr) BD Mishra (Retd) at Raj Bhavan here on Saturday. They discussed about the border security issues of the frontier State and recruitment of local youth into the Indian Army, according to a communiqué from Governor’s Secretariat here.
During the meeting, the Governor commended the troops of 3 Corps for their preparedness and élan and expressed his confidence about the security deployment to defend the country’s borders.
He appreciated the Army for maintaining peace and tranquility in the State inspite of many challenges which the troops have to face in their area of operation.
The GOC assured the Governor of ensuring bonhomie between the people of Arunachal Pradesh and the Indian Army.
Earlier, Maj Gen RK Jha, GOC, 5 Mountain Division, Tenga, West Kameng district called on the Governor and briefed him about the security on the border in his sector and civil-military cooperation, the communique added.
