Scribes’ bodies mourn death of Tribune journalist
 TEZPUR, Jan 12 - Several scribes’ bodies here, including All Assam Journalists’ Union (AAJU), Sonitpur Press Club and Sonitpur Journalists’ Union, have mourned the untimely demise of Falguni Barman, Senior Sub-Editor of The Assam Tribune.

Barman, who had also worked as the Staff Correspondent of The Assam Tribune here, later served as a Senior Sub-Editor of the Daily in Guwahati till his death.

Hailing from the Rubber Bagan area here, Barman had graduated from Darrang College. During his stint as a Reporter here, he was associated with a number of social organisations, including the Sonitpur Journalists’ Union.

Soon after the news of his demise spread, local scribes assembled at the office of the Sonitpur Journalists’ Union here for a condolence meeting to pray for eternal peace of the departed soul.

AAJU president Pankaj Kumar Nath said that Barman’s untimely demise is an irreparable loss to the media society of Tezpur. A condolence message was also sent to the bereaved family of the journalist who was widely loved for his amiable and cooperative nature.
