AIZAWL, Jan 12 – The new Governor of Mizoram, Dr Aziz Qureshi said that as far as his plan is concerned he would like to complete his tenure of Governorship in Mizoram unless his service is terminated by the Central Government. He also said that he will do his best for Mizoram.

Dr Qureshi was sworn in on Saturday as the 15th Mizoram Governor. In response to media query after the swearing-in ceremony, Dr Qureshi said that Mizoram is not a dustbin so he does not regard his appointment as State Governor a punishment. “I am determined to do my best for the development of Mizoram and for the people”, the new Governor said.

He appreciated Mizoram as a land of peace and tranquility besides being a beautiful place. He recalled that he had visited Mizoram back in the 1960s in connection with elections.
