Call for enhanced agri output

 GUWAHATI, Jan 11 - Emphasising the need to boost the State’s economy to create a favourable market for farm produce, Chief Minister Sarbananda Sonowal today urged the farmers to adopt advanced scientific technologies to enhance agricultural production in the State.

Laying the foundation stone of phase III work of the project for development of fruit and vegetable wholesale market under the Assam State Agricultural Marketing Board at Pamohi in the city, Sonowal also underlined the importance of studying the best practices of other agriculturally advanced states of the country by the officers of the agriculture department so that appropriate interventions could be taken up.

He also laid stress on developing a robust market for the agricultural produce to ensure fair price for the farmers.
