Utpal Borpujari’s Ishu bags best film award

 GUWAHATI, Jan 10 - Ishu, a film directed by journalist-turned-director Utpal Borpujari bagged the best film award at the 3rd Sailadhar Baruah Film Awards ceremony here today.

Arup Manna bagged the best director award for the movie Ananya, while Suren Mahanta bagged the best actor award for the movie Phehujali and Chandana Sarma bagged the best actress award for the movie Ananya. Suman Duarah and Pradip Daimari bagged the best cinematography award for the movie Mission China. Pratim Khaund bagged the best editing award for the movie Mission China, while Bijay Nath bagged the best sound designing award for Ananya and Tarali Sarma bagged the best music director award for the movie Calendar.

The special jury award went to Kapil Garo for Ishu and Dr Jahanara Begum for the movie Seema-The Story Untold.

Well-known actor and writer Dilip Kumar Hazarika, national award winning filmmaker Gautam Bora, actor Kulada Kumar Bhattacharjee and actress Mridula Baruah among others attended the awards function held in the District Library auditorium this evening. A journal was also released on the occasion.
