|Two nabbed with ganja|
SILCHAR, Jan 9 - In a major catch, the Border Security Force in a joint operation with the Directorate of Revenue Intelligence (DRI) on Monday seized 424.5 kg ganja worth more than Rs 23 lakh near Hilara railway gate, under Katigorah police station of Cachar.
In a release issued to the media on Tuesday, a senior BSF official said that during the operation, a truck bearing number HR55-P-3867 was intercepted and its driver was arrested along with his assistant. The driver was identified as Bheem Singh, a resident of Burari in Delhi, the official added.
Further, the BSF official informed that the consignment of ganja was loaded at Agartala and was bound to Bakhtiyarpur in Bihar.
Moreover, a cash amount of Rs 20,800 along with mobile phones and five SIM cards were recovered from the possession of both the apprehended persons.
