Base of forest guest house laid

 KALAIGAON, Jan 7 - The foundation stone-laying ceremony of the proposed forest guest house at Barnadi Wildlife Sanctuary was held on January 6 at 11.30 am.

Nerswn Boro, Deputy Speaker of BTC laid the foundation stone of the estimated Rs 3.3 crore multi-storied guest house. Speaking on the occasion, Boro said that the forest guest house at Barnadi Wildlife Sanctuary would attract more tourists in the days to come after completion of construction. Till date, there was no public accommodation facilities at Barnadi Wildlife Sanctuary, famous for pygmy hog, wild elephants, leopard, deer, bear, wild gaur, wild dog, hispid hare etc.

Maheswar Boro, MLA of Kalaigaon LAC, Suresh Tanti, MCLA of 33 Nonai Serfang, Robinson Muchahari, Additional Principal Secretary of BTC, Gokul Chandra Brahma, ADC-cum-SDO, (Civil) of Bhergaon sub-division, among others, attended the ceremony as distinguished guests.

Earlier, MK Sarma, DFO of Dhansiri Forest Division welcomed all the guests with an arnai each.
