Staff Correspondent
JORHAT, Jan 7 - A 10-day National Cadet Corps Combined Annual Training Camp (CATC) for girls started at the NCC Academy at Garamur here on Monday.

The camp was inaugurated by Colonel Pankaj Sahani, Officiating Group Commander, NCC Group, Jorhat, in the presence of Camp Commandant and Group Training Officer.

Addressing the cadets, Colonel Sahani spoke about the objectives of the camp and its significance in terms of collective training and inculcating virtues of discipline.

He also stated that the camp stay of 10 days would let the cadets take back lots of wonderful memories along with bonds of friendship among themselves. The opening address was followed by group photography.

It may be mentioned here that CATC is meant to impart collective training to NCC cadets as well as to give them first hand exposure to camp life with frugal living.

This particular camp comprising only girl cadets aims to inculcate team spirit, discipline and self-dependence in the young cadets.
