Manipur to join nationwide strike by trade unions

 IMPHAL, Jan 7 - The coordinating body of trade unions, Manipur is all set to enforce 36 hour nationwide shut down in Manipur too from 6am of January 8.

Disclosing to the reporters here on Monday afternoon, Chairman L Sotinkumar of the coordinating body of trade unions, Manipur claimed that around 2 lakh workers from different sectors including 50,000 employees, casual, work charge and muster roll staffs besides the daily wage earners will join the shutdown in the state.

The trade union are in great pain that the government did not pay any heed to their 12-point demand in which inflation, employment and more minimum pension was included, he said.
