Hog deer rescued in Orang National Park

The rescued hog deer
 KALAIGAON, Jan 7 – The Forest staff of the Orang National Park rescued a female hog deer at Badaliborali village in Darrang district, 10 km from the boundary of the park, which had strayed out of the park recently.

Talking to this correspondent, SK Daila, DFO,Orang National Park, said that the number of incidents of poaching and illegal fishing had come down in recent months with the setting up of a good communication network.

In another incident, three persons, Dulaluddin (24), Fazal Haque (26) and Khairul Islam (19) were apprehended by a team of Forest officials while the trio were fishing illegally near the Bogimara camp inside the Orang National Park. Around 8 kg of fish and fishing equipment were seized.
