|Sonowal attends Dwijing fest |
BONGAIGAON, Jan 5 - Chief Minister Sarbananda Sonowal attended the Dwijing festival, being held along the bank of Aie river in Chirang district’s Khagrabari today.
Addressing the people, Sonowal spoke about the benefits of rivers and lauded the initiative taken by the BTC Chief Hagrama Mohilary and Minister Chandan Brahma to promote tourism in the region through this festival.
But he did not utter a single word on CAA and about the present situation in the State.
AGP meeting: The Asom Gana Parishad (AGP) organised its co-workers meet at Barpara public field in the town today in a bid to encourage party workers to take the party to the masses. Party president Atul Bora, Minister Keshab Mahanta, Phani Bhushan Choudhury and other leaders were present at the meet. Atul Bora criticised the Congress and Phani Bhushan Choudhury blamed the Opposition parties and some other forces for turning the peaceful movement against CAA into a violent unrest. Protesting the Act, AASU members had showed black flags to the AGP leaders while they were leaving Bongaigaon after the meet.
