Freedom fighter Bhaskar Ballav Deka passes away

 MORIGAON, Jan 3 - Bhaskar Ballav Deka, president, Morigaon District Freedom Fighters’ Association breathed his last yesterday at his own residence at Bamunbori village in Morigaon district due to old-age ailments. He was 93.

Deka’s death cast a pall of gloom in the entire Morigaon district. He was loved and respected by all for his amiable disposition. The veteran freedom fighter was imprisoned for two years in 1942 for his active role in the freedom movement. Deka was also associated with several social organisations of Morigaon district. He was also the president of Morigaon unit of Assam Prohibition Council. Morigaon District Freedom Fighters’ Association have deeply mourned his death.

He leaves behind his four sons, two daughters besides a host of relatives.
