Cases against Hojai MLA
Staff Reporter
GUWAHATI, Jan 3 - The Krishak Shramik Unnayan Parishad has filed an FIR against BJP MLA from Hojai Siladitya Deb accusing him of making “objectionable statements” on the NRC issue.

In the FIR filed at the Latasil Police Station in the city, the organisation’s president Pradeep Kalita said Siladitya Deb yesterday made “objectionable” and “communal” statements on a TV channel, which cast doubts over the NRC process which is being done under the supervision of the Supreme Court.

“He has indulged in a communal conspiracy to instigate communal conflicts between Hindus and Muslims,” the FIR stated, seeking an investigation into the matter.

Police have registered a case under relevant sections of the IPC.

The Goriya Moriya Yuba Parishad has also filed a case at the Latasil Police Station against Deb on the issue.

Meanwhile, the Krishak Mukti Sangram Samity has demanded immediate arrest of the Hojai MLA for “showing disrespect” to the apex court.

“He has claimed that names of illegal migrants have been included in the part draft of NRC. He is indulging in a propaganda,” the KMSS said in a release.
