GUWAHATI, Jan 2 - General Manger of Northeast Frontier Railway (NFR) Sanjive Roy released the handbook Zonal Disaster Management Plan 2020 at the zone’s Maligaon headquarters here on Wednesday.
The handbook was formulated and prepared under the guidance of Pradip Kumar Hira, Deputy Chief Safety Officer (Mechanical) of NFR.
It aims is to make readers aware about all the safety instructions, facilitate in contacting different organisations on any problem, provide procedures for inquiries, besides providing other information regarding disaster management.
The book has inputs for all the departments like Operating, Commercial, Electrical, Civil Engineering, Medical, Signal and Telecommunication, Public Relations and Personal in the India Railways.
It provides contact numbers of different departments of railway safety as well as other sectors of various organisations which can be used as sources to contact in case of any disaster.
Speaking on the occasion, Roy appreciated the NFR Safety Department for publishing the handbook and provided suggestions on disaster management to the officers and staff of different departments.
