All Assam Marathon at Dergaon
 DERGAON, Jan 2 – The All Assam Prize-money Open Marathon, organised under the aegis of AASHRAY, an NGO, will be held here on January 20. According to the organisers, the motto of the competition will be ‘Let Us Share In Environment Protection’ and will be open for male participants.

The 21-kilometer race will be from Golaghat Pulibar Chariali on PHCG Path to Dergaon Naren Sarmah Memorial Field. The competition will be inaugurated by Golaghat DC Sanjib Gohain Baruah and will be attended by world record holder Abhijit Baruah.

The competitors must confirm their participation three days ahead and will have undergo medical test before joining the competition on January 19, said Sanjoy Kr Hazarika, the secretary of the organizing committee at a press meet held at Dergaon HS school.

The secretary also informed that several senior sportspersons as well as sports organisers will be felicitated at the prize distribution. Outstation competitors will be provided free food and lodging on the previous day of the competition.
