Meghalaya NGO supports Bharat bandh today

 SHILLONG, Jan 2 – The Civil Society Women’s Organisation (CSWO) has extended its support to the Bharat bandh tomorrow called by protesters demanding swift justice for the Delhi gang rape victim.

The CSWO appeals to all citizens to support the bandh, Agnes Kharshiing of CSWO said.

She said that rape is a threat looming large in the society and urged the people “to be united in fighting this crime.”

“The Organisation also demands that stringent laws be put in place and Law Commissions are active so that women are protected. Governments all over the country had better take security of women and children seriously,” Kharshiing stated.
