Historic Tiwa Rajdarbar conference held|
JAGIROAD, Feb 28 - The two-day third biennial conference of the historic Tiwa Rajdarbar concluded this evening at Kumoi-Khumdung Kshetra, 10 km from here in the presence of a large gathering.

Altogether, 400 delegates from various Rajdarbars of middle Assam took part in the conference, which began with the inauguration of a cultural procession by Prafulla Kumar Bordoloi. An open session was also organised under the chairmanship of Jursing Bardoloi, president of Tiwa Rajdarbar, in which local MLA Bibekananda Doloi, Tiwa Sahitya Sabha president Lalsing Madav, 16 Tiwa Rajas, including Gobha Deo-raja, Deepsing and other dignitaries attended.
The speakers appealed for preserving the ancient Tiwa cultural resources.
Altogether, 10 resolutions like allotment of land for the historic Junbeel Mela, regularisation of Tiwa language teacher at the primary level, among others, were adopted.
