Centre has gone back on promise: AKRSU(B)
Spl Correspondent
NEW DELHI, Feb 28 - The All Assam Koch Rajbongshi Students’ Union (B) has charged that the BJP-led NDA Government at the Centre has gone back on its promise on granting ST status to the community.

Biswajit Ray, chief adviser of AKRSU, today told newsmen that they had received a letter from the Ministry of Tribal Affairs yesterday in response to the memorandum sent to the Prime Minister on November 24, 2015, It was stated that earlier the Registrar General of India had rejected more than three times the Assam Government’s proposal, so no comments have been given by the RGI on these proposals as per the existing modalities. This proves that the Central Government’s promise of granting ST status to Koch Rajbongshis is a lie, Rai said.

“The Centre’s promise to grant ST status to Koch Rajbongshis is a blatant lie,” said the former chief of AKRSU.
