Himachal Minister calls on Chamling
GANGTOK, Feb 24 – The Himachal Pradesh Horticulture Minister Vidya Stoker called on Sikkim Chief Minister Pawan Chamling at his official residence. Chamling informed her about the various development initiatives taking place in Sikkim. He also said that despite initial difficulties, the State Government has succeeded in convincing the farming communities to take up organic farming. Chemical fertilisers and pesticides have been fully replaced by organic manure, said Chamling.

Recalling her own State’s initiative, Stoker said that Himachal also tried to stop use of pesticides and chemical fertilisers but could not succeed. She extended an invitation to Chamling to visit Himachal to share the success of Sikkim with the people of her State.
