|City to host national lawn bowling|
GUWAHATI, Feb 16 - The Lawn Bowling Association, Assam (LBAA) has been allotted the responsibility by the Bowling Federation of India to host the National Lawn Bowling Championship for the second time.

This time the 7th National and 3rd U-25 Lawn Bowls Championship will be organised at the Lawn Ball Green, Sarusajai Sports Complex here from February 21 to March 1.
Giving details about the championship in a press conference here today the LBAA working president Naba Basumatary, general secretary Pranab Barman and treasurer Avijit Mazumdar said that altogether 156 players from 13 states – Assam, Manipur, Arunachal Pradesh, West Bengal, Bihar, Jharkhand, Madhya Pradesh, Odisha, Delhi, Panjab, Uttar Pradesh, Rajasthan and Kerala will contest in events like singles, pairs (both men and women), mix-pair, mix-triple and mix-fours.
All the matches will be played at the same venue and seven matches of different events will be organised simultaneously. In the U-25 category only singles and mix-doubles events will be conducted. All the players will be given accommodation in the Sarusajai Sports Complex. Announcing the Assam team, Barman hoped that Assam will become champions as the team is studded with experienced and top players of the country.
