Assam masters shine in national athletics

 GUWAHATI, Feb 15 - Assam masters athletes bagged 105 medals including 41 gold, 29 silver and 35 bronze in the 40th National Masters Athletics Championship held at the Acharya Nagarjuna University in Guntur, Andhra Pradesh from February 5 to 10.

The gold medal winners are: Ramesh Barua (men 60+, gold in 200m, 100m and 300m hurdles, 400m relay); Ganesh Gogoi (men 50+), Jyotiprabha Kanikar (women 50+), Dipali Dutta (woman 55+), Rupada Borgohain (women 75+) all won three gold medals each; Himani Saikia (women 65+), Prativa Das (women 55+), Anima Sonowal (women 50+), Rupa Sonowal (women 45+), Bandana Gogoi (women 45+) won two gold medals each; Biroja Das (women 70+), Evarani Baruah (women 70+), Padumi Gohain (women 60+), Kalpana Gohain (women 40+), Chandana Chawdang (women 40+) , Someswari Basumatary (women 50+), Sahina Begam (women 45+), Junti Medhi (women 45+), Mandira Gogoi (women 45+), Jiten Bhuyan (men 75+), Rukheswar Borah  (men 65+),  Saidul Islam (men 35+), Debnath Gowala (men 55+), Bijay Bhuyan (men 55+), Lakhinath Buragohain (men 50+) Jadab Kumar Roy (men 40+), Jadab Mili (men 40+), Naba Gogoi (men 40+) won one gold medal each. Jatindra Nath Brahma, Maguram Balari and Dilip Kumar Sharma accompanied the team as officials.
