ITANAGAR, Feb 15 - The 49th Tamla-Du festival of the Mishmi (Digaru-Miju) community was celebrated with traditional gaiety at Medo village in Lohit district on Thursday.

Attending the celebration as the chief guest, Deputy Chief Minister Chowna Mein, while greeting the people on the occasion, lauded the Mishmis for zealously maintaining their rich culture and traditions.

Exhorting the people to maintain, promote and propagate their age-old cultural heritage, Mein said: “We should never let it go. This is the identity of our society and the beauty of Arunachal lies in our multiplicity. We must maintain it at any cost while upholding the spirit of unity in diversity.”
