ITANAGAR, Feb 14 - Arunachal Pradesh Governor Brig Dr BD Mishra (retd), along with senior officers, today visited the Sainik School at Niglok in East Siang district and also inspected the proposed permanent site of the school.
The State’s first Sainik School, which was inaugurated by Chief Minister Pema Khandu in September 2018, is at present functioning from a temporary building of the Industrial Growth Centre at Niglok-Ngorlung under the Pasighat West Assembly Constituency.
The Governor, who has been called for establishment of a girls’ wing at the Niglok Sainik School, stressed that the school must have state-of-the-art amenities.
Later, the Governor interacted with students and advised them to imbibe a culture of inquisitiveness, discipline, punctuality, scientific temper, hard work and physical fitness.
Mishra also advised the management and teaching staff to put their best to produce the best students.
During the visit, the Governor was accompanied by Chief Secretary Naresh Kumar, Commissioner to the Governor Dr Sagar Preet Hooda, Education Secretary Niharika Rai, senior architect Dawa Tsering and the school principal, Lt Cdr AK Dutt.
Local MLA Ninong Ering, East Siang DC Dr Kinny Singh, SP Rajeev Ranjan Singh, PWD (Central Zone) Chief Engineer Markar Bam and other senior officers were also present on the occasion.
