Union minister lays stress on free education

 GUWAHATI, Feb 14 - Union Minister of Human Resource Development Ramesh Pokhriyal has called for stress on free education. He was interacting with students at the Srimanta Sankaradeva Kalakshetra, Panjabari, today under an event ‘Yuva Samvaad’ organised by the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE).

Pokhriyal said he was participating in the ‘Yuva Samvaad’ event to give a moral boost to the students in their future endeavours. He urged the students to prepare themselves for a stronger tomorrow.

The Union Minister said that India has always been a nation enriched with knowledge from ancient times and is known globally as a country of rich heritage and culture. Terming the students warriors of the nation, he requested them to contribute to the country’s development.

Pokhriyal also answered lots of their queries from the students. He also suggested that participating actively in both sports and studies would bring about moral as well as physical development in the students. He asserted that students should never give up in life and should have patience while staying focused to achieve success.

Mission Director, RMSA Assam Samsher Singh; Chairman of SEBA RC Jain; Director of CBSE Assam KK Chaudhury; Joint Secretary COE Sanjib Das, along with 1,200 students from various schools of Guwahati participated in the interactive session.

The Union Minister also visited the Indian Institute of Technology, Guwahati, to inaugurate the newly constructed estate building and the NRL Centre of Excellence later in the day.
