|Assam girl in Bollywood film|
GUWAHATI, Feb 14 - After enjoying a successful stint in television industry, Assam girl Shamin Mannan is all set to make her silver screen debut with Love Shagun slated to hit the theatres on February 26.
Love Shagun is a romantic Bollywood comedy flick directed by Saandesh Nayak and produced by Saanvi Nayak Films. Shamin is playing one of the lead roles in the movie and playing the character of Shama.
“It is a very interesting with lots of shades. Each character in the film portrays different definitions of love and I am playing a girl who finds divinity in love,” the upcoming actress, who originally hails from Dibrugarh, said.
“It is a youthful film targeted for young as well as family audience. I had a great time shooting for the film as my character Shama is a very different kind of role to play. There is also a comedy angle to the character to my role which will have the audience in splits,” she said.
After passing out from Little Flower School and Salt Brook Academy in Dibrugarh, Shamim decided to pursue her dream in television industry and essayed the lead role in a soap titled Sanskaar telecast on Colors channel.
Shamim had also featured in a few commercial advertisements for leading brands.
“Love Shagun is a very special film to me for more than one reason. Coming from Assam, my journey from television to film has been challenging yet enjoyable,” she added.
Besides Shamin, the movie also features Vikram Kochhar, Anuj Sachdeva, Nidhi Subbaiah, Simpy Singh, Manit Joura and Taran Bajaj.
