|Programme on circular economy|
GUWAHATI, Feb 13 - The National Productivity Council, Regional Directorate, Guwahati, organised a programme on ‘Circular Economy for Productivity & Sustainability’ as part of the National Productivity Week Celebration 2019, here on Tuesday.
S Borgohain, Director (Personnel), NEEPCO Ltd, who was the chief guest of the programme, spoke on various aspects of circular economy, particularly in context with the North East.
Dr Abhigyan Bhattacharya, Associate Professor, NEHU (Tura campus) delivered the keynote address on circular economy with special emphasis on implementation of the concept and its integration at the policy level to make it more effective.
DN Baruah, former president of the Guwahati Management Association, also deliberated on the topic and gave his views and suggestions on how to implement the concept.
NPC Guwahati officials also presented new tools of material flow cost accounting and its implementation to achieve circular economy. Sanjib Kakati, life member, Assam Productivity Council, also spoke on circular economy and the relevance of biomimicry. Parag Phukan, Director, GMA, also gave a talk on circular economy and its relevance in respect of a smart city, with special focus on Guwahati.
