Six foreigners arrested in Morigaon

 MORIGAON, Feb 14: As many as six foreigners were arrested today by the Border Branch of Assam Police in Morigaon district.

Deputy Superintendent of Police (Border), Morigaon, DR Bora told newsmen that six declared Bangladeshis foreigners who were declared as foreigners by the foreigners tribunal and confirmed by the Gauhati High Court three months back were absconding.

The six persons were identified as Amez Ali, Sirazul Hoque, Somet Ali, Golap Ali, Yumuri Begum and Robisa Begum. The head of the family was arrested 4 months ago.

However, the above mentioned family members challenged the Gauhati High Court confirmation order in the Supreme Court. The Supreme Court rejected the petition of those persons and directed them to surrender before police.

The arrested foreigners were sent to Tezpur Detention camp today, the DSP(Border), Morigaon added.
