DIPHU, Feb 10 - With an aim to run schools smoothly, for proper utilization of Government’s allocated development funds and to strengthen the civil works under the Rashtriya Madhyamik Siksha Abhijan (RMSA), different types of training have been organized randomly by the organization with the help of the Karbi Anglong Autonomous Council (KAAC).
As a part of this, two-day training programmes for members of the School Management and Development Committees (SMDC) were conducted in various venues by RMSA, KAAC on Monday.
According to official reports, the training of SMDCs were held at Howraghat English Medium High School, Phonglokpet High School, Bakalia Mailu Hindi High School, West Karbi Anglong.
During the two-day programme, the members were imparted training on the topics, ‘Unified District Information System for Education (UDISE), School Improvement Plan (SIP), Swachha Bharat Swachha Vidyalay Abhiyan, National Skill Qualification Framework (NSQF-vocational education), Inclusive Education for Disabled at School Stage (IEDSS), Infrastructure Development in School (Civil Works), Utilization of School Grants’ etc., and duties of members as well as presidents and member secretaries of the SMDCs etc.
Attending the training held at Howraghat English Medium High School, Chandra Mohan Upadhyaya, Key Resource Person (KRP) said that the same training was held today and will continue tomorrow at Borlangpher High School, RMSA Office, Diphu, Howraghat Tiniali Anchalik Bodo Medium High School and Kherani Girls High School, West Karbi Anglong, respectively.
The same training will also be organized at Borjan High School, Bokajan, Bagori High School and Tengralangso High School, West Karbi Anglong on February 13 and 14.
RMSA laid stress on to improve quality education. Quality is one of the core components of the RMSA. Comprehensive steps have been taken to universalize quality education at the secondary and higher stages.
Besides, the training focuses on quality infrastructure management information system, curriculum development, learning resources, teacher qualification, competency, subject specific development in schools, in- service training of teachers and heads of the school, academic support at all levels, and classroom-based support and supervision issues etc.
Another step taken by the RMSA is improvement of equity. The expansion of secondary education is based on equity which is based on enrolment of students. Special emphasis has been given on the socially- disadvantaged groups like SC, ST, tea community and the BPL students.
