Silchar MP backs Barak Valley locals
Correspondent
SILCHAR, Feb 10 - Echoing the burning problems faced by the people of Barak Valley, particularly the job seekers, Silchar MP Susmita Dev has drawn the attention of Chief Minister Tarun Gogoi on the issue.

Susmita forwarded a letter of All Cachar Karimganj Hailakandi Students’ Association carrying the demand for appointment of local youths of the Barak Valley in the Grade III and Grade IV posts under the State Government.

“On most occasions, the educated youths from the Valley are ignored during the appointment in the Grade III and Grade IV posts and the people from outside the valley are preferred. This has created widespread annoyance here,” Susmita mentioned in the letter. She also forwarded a copy of the letter from the Principal of Teachers Training College, Silchar, as a reference on the issue.
